Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 7 August 2026

SoPoet is a small community for poetry and photography, and everyone who uses it deserves to be safe. We have no tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and we are committed to keeping such material and behaviour off the platform. This page sets out our standards, how we enforce them, and how to report a concern.

What we do not allow

We prohibit, without exception, child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content, contact, or behaviour that sexualises, endangers, or exploits a child. This includes:

These rules sit alongside the wider limits in our Terms of Service, which prohibit unlawful and sexually explicit content of any kind.

Minimum age

You must be at least 13, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, to use SoPoet. The service is not intended for children under that age. If we learn that an account belongs to a child below the minimum age, we remove it.

How we keep SoPoet safe

Everything posted on SoPoet is public, which helps the community and our team spot content that does not belong here. When we receive a report, we review it promptly. Where we find a breach of these standards we remove the content and disable the account responsible. Where the law requires it, we preserve the material and the associated account information and refer the matter to the relevant authorities.

Reporting a concern

If you see anything on SoPoet that puts a child at risk, please tell us straight away. There are two ways to reach us:

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first, then let us know.

Working with the authorities

We comply with the laws that apply to us and cooperate with child protection agencies. As a team based in the United Kingdom, we work with the National Crime Agency’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection command (CEOP) and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), and we report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). You can also report directly to them:

Our point of contact

For any question about these standards, or to report child safety concerns, our published point of contact is sopoetadmin@gmail.com. We monitor this address and respond as quickly as we can.
